Dr. Ajay Gambhir

Dr. Ajay Gambhir is a pediatrician, neonatologist, public health advocate, and vaccinology expert based in New Delhi. With approximately four decades of experience in child healthcare, he has contributed extensively to clinical practice, medical education, immunization advocacy, and healthcare quality initiatives in India.

Dr. Gambhir completed his MBBS from Nagpur University and subsequently pursued postgraduate training in Pediatrics. In addition to his MD in Pediatrics, he also holds an MD in Community Medicine, reflecting his dual interest in individual patient care and population health. His academic qualifications further include a Diploma in Hospital and Health Administration (DHA) and an LLB from the University of Delhi (DU), indicating his engagement with medico-legal aspects of healthcare.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Gambhir has been associated with several prominent healthcare institutions. His professional journey has included tenures at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram; Batra Hospital; Safdarjung Hospital; University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital; Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital; Jaipur Golden Hospital; Apollo Clinic; and Saroj Super Speciality Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Gambhir serves as a Senior Consultant in Pediatrics and Neonatology at Saroj Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Gambhir has played an active role in professional organizations. He has served as Vice President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) and as President of the IAP Delhi State Branch. He has also contributed to national initiatives aimed at improving child health and promoting evidence-based immunization practices.

Dr. Gambhir has been associated with advisory and quality bodies such as the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NITAG), the Quality Council of India (QCI), and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH).
