Introduction
Dr. Muthusamy Malaravan is an ophthalmologist based in Sri Lanka, with clinical and academic roles in cataract and anterior segment care. He completed his MD in Ophthalmology from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, and pursued a fellowship in Anterior Segment and Intraocular Lens (IOL) Microsurgery at Aravind Eye Hospitals and Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology. His training focuses on cataract services and microsurgical techniques.
He has been serving as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Teaching Hospital, Jaffna since 2013 and is also a Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna. His professional roles include contributions to national eye health programs such as Vision 2020 under the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, and membership in the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. He has also been involved with the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka in a council capacity.
