Dr. Sharon D’Souza

Dr. Sharon D’Souza is an ophthalmologist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with clinical and research focus in cornea, ocular surface, and refractive surgery. She completed her MD/MS in Ophthalmology from St. John’s Medical College Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Narayana Nethralaya Eye Hospital. Her training includes corneal transplantation and management of ocular surface disorders, with an academic interest in corneal immunology and graft survival.

She has served as a consultant at Narayana Nethralaya Eye Hospital and is currently associated with Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru, as a consultant in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. Her work also includes research in endothelial cell regeneration using induced pluripotent stem cells. In addition to clinical practice, she is involved in surgical training through wet labs and academic lectures, contributing to ophthalmic education and skill development.
