Dr. Sumit Mehta

Dr. Sumit Mehta is a consultant psychiatrist and academic based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He holds an MD in Psychiatry from Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health and a bachelor’s degree from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He is currently a Professor of Psychiatry at Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, where he is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, and management of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, including specialized clinics for different age groups.

Dr. Mehta also serves as Chief Executive Officer and Consultant Psychiatrist at Mindcare Clinic, Dehradun, where he oversees clinical services and multidisciplinary mental health care. His work includes the application of psychotherapies such as dialectical behavior therapy, along with the use of interventions like ECT and rTMS.
