Dr. Deepika Bishnoi is an Indian public health physician, researcher, science communicator, and medical journalist. She is known for her work in epidemiology, community-based research, health communication, and academic public health initiatives. She currently serves as the Creative Director and Executive Editor of Public Health Chronicle and has contributed to medical journalism through MedBound Times. Her work combines clinical medicine, public health research, digital health communication, and scientific storytelling, making her part of a new generation of physician-communicators in India.

Early Life and Education

Dr. Deepika Bishnoi was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She completed her early schooling at Cambridge School, Kandivali East, where she completed her ICSE education, followed by Ryan International School, Kandivali East, where she completed her CBSE higher secondary education.

She pursued her undergraduate medical training at Topiwala National Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai Central, earning her MBBS degree between 2013 and 2019. She later specialized in Community Medicine, completing her MD in Community Medicine from HBT Medical College and Dr. R. N. Cooper Municipal General Hospital, Juhu, Mumbai during the 2021–2022 academic batch, where she secured second rank in her batch.

During her postgraduate training, Dr. Bishnoi developed strong interests in epidemiology, preventive medicine, behavioral health research, biostatistics, and evidence-based public health communication.

Career

Dr. Bishnoi has built a multidisciplinary career spanning public health practice, academic research, editorial leadership, and science communication. She completed one year of Senior Residency at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Andheri, Mumbai, gaining experience in public health implementation, medical education, and community health services.Alongside her academic and clinical work, she emerged as a science communicator and editorial leader. She currently serves as Creative Director and Executive Editor of Public Health Chronicle, where she leads initiatives focused on making public health research accessible to healthcare professionals, students, and the general public. She was recognized on the organization’s Foundation Day for her contributions as Creative Director and Feature Editor.

Dr. Bishnoi has also contributed as an author and medical journalism trainee with MedBound Times, completing the Medical Journalism Certification Program in 2025.

Research and Academic Contributions

Dr. Bishnoi’s research focuses on contemporary public health issues, preventive medicine, and behavioral epidemiology. Her research projects include studies on:

  • Hepatitis B vaccination knowledge, attitudes, and practices among medical students
  • Severe COVID-19 pulmonary disease in preterm and very low birth weight babies
  • Smartphone addiction and associated risk factors among school students

Her study titled “Swipe, Match, Risk – A Study About Dating Applications Amongst the Youth of a Metropolitan City” gained national recognition at IAPSMCON 2024, Mangalore.

She has also delivered lectures for medical officers, presented academic seminars on tuberculosis control strategies, non-communicable diseases, rabies epidemiology, and contributed to national public health education platforms.
