Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Satish Ravi is an internationally acclaimed Indian anatomist, medical educator, researcher, academic leader, and scientific editor whose career exemplifies excellence in anatomical sciences, medical education, scholarly publishing, and academic leadership. Recognized among the World's Top 2% Scientists by the Elsevier–Stanford University global citation rankings and the World's Top 5% Scientists (2025) by the SCI Global Registry, he is widely regarded as one of the most internationally visible contemporary Indian anatomists.

He currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy and Vice Principal at the National Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur, and is also an Adjunct Professor of Anatomy at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several prestigious academic and administrative positions in India and abroad, including leadership appointments at AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Gorakhpur, and Spartan Health Sciences University, St. Lucia.

Dr. Ravi is internationally recognized for his transformative leadership in scientific publishing. As the Editor-in-Chief of the National Journal of Clinical Anatomy (NJCA), the official journal of the Society of Clinical Anatomists (SOCA), India, he has elevated the journal into one of India's leading anatomy journals by strengthening editorial standards, international collaborations, peer-review quality, visibility, and indexing. His vision has significantly enhanced the journal's scientific reputation and global reach.
His international academic standing is reflected in his service to the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). He is a member of the Federative International Committee on Scientific Publications (FICSP) and has served on the International Advisory Committee of the IFAA World Congress. Through these prestigious appointments, he represents India in advancing global standards of anatomy education, scientific publishing, and research integrity. He is the author of Textbook of Histology (Elsevier) and Textbook of Human Anatomy (Wolters Kluwer), and has served as editor for Snell's Clinical Neuroanatomy, BRS Neuroanatomy, and Visualization in Neuroanatomical Sciences (Springer Nature). He has also contributed to internationally acclaimed references, including Gray's Anatomy (43rd Edition) and Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy, reflecting his global academic recognition.
Beyond research and publishing, Dr. Ravi has played a pivotal role in advancing competency-based medical education, curriculum innovation, faculty development, assessment reforms, and postgraduate training. As an NMC Coordinator and Assessor, Kayakalp Assessor, PhD Guide, and UG & PG Examiner, he has contributed significantly to strengthening the quality of medical education in India.
His leadership in professional organizations has been equally distinguished. He currently serves as Vice President of the Society of Clinical Anatomists (India) and previously served as Vice President of the Anatomical Society of India. He is also the Founder President of the Association of Anatomists and served as the Organising Chairman of SOCACON 2026 – the World Congress of Clinical Anatomists, one of the largest international gatherings of anatomists in the region.
