Introduction
Dr. Sebastian Cotofana, MD, PhD, is an anatomist and academic currently serving as Adjoint Clinical Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed a PhD in Anatomy from Paracelsus Medical University (2012–2015) and a PhD in Medical Sciences from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2006–2008). His academic career has included faculty roles at Ross University School of Medicine and Albany Medical College, followed by a full professorship in anatomy at Mayo Clinic from 2019 to 2023.
Dr. Cotofana is also the CEO and founder of Cotofana Anatomy, an educational initiative focused on applied anatomy in aesthetic medicine. His work centres on anatomical research, medical education, and the translation of anatomical knowledge into clinical practice within plastic surgery and related fields.
